That said, if you are under exposing the sensor by speeding down to 400 you'd then be opening up the f-stop even more to let enough light in to ETTR - so your lack of noise may just be a by-product of the fact that you're actually pushing the sensor even harder into it's sweet spot. If you're recording in CinemaDNG, the sensor data (which is the same regardless of ISO setting) is written to the the DNG file along with the selected ISO and the white balance value (among other things).īasically, if you shoot in CinemaDNG white balance and ISO aren't super relevant to you as these are just metadata flags added to the DNG file and interpreted / reapplied (or not, if you so choose) by Resolve. If you are then going to use the footage in Resolve, make sure that the Alpha Mode under its Clip Attributes isn't set to none.
