It functions like the Monk from the Age of Empires series, being able to heal units and convert enemy units (only human military units, though worshiping the deity Shennong allows Monks to convert non-titan myth units as well). The second big change is the Chinese hero unit the Monk. First, they have the garden building, which gives you a trickle of a resource of your choice. So the Chinese faction still follows the same Deity guideline, but has some unique additions to how the game is played.
